Hi,

I can login via Fx to Inbox.com. I sent a test message from Inbox.com to another account, that worked.

Test messages sent to Inbox.com from other accounts are showing up, same goes for test messages sent using SMTP to another account.

Only part not working is the POP3, I have never had any real luck with the POP3 on Inbox.com anyway. I do have friends who have. The POP3/SMTP is still technically beta so.....

I use the webmail everyday, and keep it open for a few hours a day. No problem at all.

No problems with web access yesterday (Tue, around 20:00 GMT), and no problems now (Wed, 9:45 GMT)

When I log into webmail all my messages are still there even though the server status in Eudora shows them as deleted off the server.

Have you gone into "Settings" and enabled POP?

CyberSmurf said "When I log into webmail all my messages are still there even though the server status in Eudora shows them as deleted off the server."
The same problem has always existed for me also, whichever email client I use. I think that I said once before, that this looks like a half-baked beta service.
I keep my inbox account going, in the slim hope that it improves.

Hi,

If you look under the pop3 access options under the options menu, I think you can actually choose whether to have access to all emails from a certain date or all the emails in your account, like Gmail, if you choose all emails then this problem might well go away.

Yes. My client tells me I have messages but fails to download them. No errors if no messages in the inbox. This is true on several clients I have tried. Sometimes it does work, but more often it does not.

POP3 for me has not been reliable. The web interface work great, but I prefer POP3. Sending (SMTP), however works, it just POP3 that gives me problems.

I think they must be doing a GMail we-keep-your-mail.

... did some testing ...

The difference here seems to be that if my e-mail client "leaves mail on server" then it is still available to be downloaded by another client or computer.
If you "delete off the server" it is no longer available, except in webmail.
Or maybe our messages are downloaded by the webmail applicatation on the server side even when we are not logged in.

If you move a message to a custom web folder it is still available to the e-mail client. So you can set up filters to keep the bulk of your e-mail out of your webmail inbox and still access them via POP.

CyberSmurf, you could be on to something. I think I will also test this out. Somehow though I still think something is not right in their POP3. At least Gmail gives you the option to delete on POP3 access.
