VHS vs DVD + TV Digital vs Analouge
Just a question regarding all the recent changes in home theatre. First of all, do you use mainly DVD or do you still use VHS/VCR
Also in regards to TV (satellite/cable and free to air) do you recieve standard broadcasts or digital broadcasts (via a set top box) Will be interesting to see if the digital revolution is more accepted in some areas of the word then others.. p.s - i know the poll is kinda limited, so feel free to write your responses too! |
I get analouge (standard tv) and use VHS to record TV shows etc, but usually use DVD to watch movies (except I obviously use VHS for movies not re-released on DVD)
Oh yea I stuffed up the last poll question! It should be DVD/Standard TV. Pehaps one of the mods will be kind and fix it for me? |
Fixed your poll for you. I mainly watch DVDs (95% of the time), and the TV signal is via cable so it's better than regular quality (though I don't know if it's strictly "digital" or not)

Just a DVD player and a 10-year-old analog TV here :) El-cheapo as usual...I don't spend any more on playthings than I absolutely have to :D

I have only recently bought a SD set top box, a Teac ITV-D500 (see www.player.teac.com.au). I think this box is called Netgem in the UK and Europe. But I watch videotapes more than DVD's.
BTW I bought the above set top box for well under half the price it was at a certain music and home entertainment store at which a certain person on this forum works, where it was priced at $AU499. No wonder they can afford to pay his wages. Jeff |
I picked "VHS and Standard TV (analouge)"
I like the most smoothest/natural look/sound and in my opinion nothing beats how beautiful analogue is :) |
