There is a Chrome extension which apparently does that:
https://support.cloudhq.net/how-to-s...ts-to-dropbox/

I've never tried it, so use at your risk.

Which email provider are you using? Fastmail (which has a separate sub-forum here at EMD) has a feature in their webmail to save email attachments to the user’s Dropbox account.

we have Dropbox connector with which any incoming emails with attachments are automatically uploaded into your dropbox.

Does it work at client or at server side?
I mean it allows uploading attachment WHEN I READ AN EMAIL via the web client or it uploads the attachment WHEN FastMail RECEIVE AN EMAIL?

The same difference that exists between sieve filter and web filter, just to better understand the doubt.

Thanks

The Fastmail webmail system lets you save any attachment on a received message to your Dropbox account. This is a manual action by the user. The action by the user is at the client side, but the actual action is performed at the Fastmail and Dropbox server side directly.

If you instead want to save all incoming message attachments automatically to Dropbox, I would use the https://sendtodropbox.com service. The basic version is free. After you sign up at that site, you will receive a unique email address for saving attachments. You can then send a copy of some or all incoming messages to that unique email address and all attachments will be automatically saved to the Apps>Attachments folder at your Dropbox account.

If you are using a Fastmail email account, you have several choices on automatically forwarding messages to the SendToDropbox service address:
  1. If you use an alias email address (not your main address) for incoming messages, add another Deliver to: address for the unique SendToDropbox service address in the Settings>Aliases screen. This will save the attachments on all incoming messages sent to that one alias. Of course, you can do this separately for several aliases.
  2. Use a rule (which invokes sieve code) to send a copy of all incoming messages to the unique SendToDropbox service address. This will save the attachments on all incoming messages sent to any alias or your main address.
  3. Use a rule to send a copy of only certain incoming messages to the unique SendToDropbox service address.

servermx solution is server side based. Once your custom email is connected to Dropbox you do not need to open or read your email. Any attachments will be put into your Dropbox divided by domain and user (local part). The same as sendtodropbox.com but with your domain name.

Pat

e.g. if I receive an email from mark.jacob@cisco.com the related attachment would be uploaded to a path named "cisco.com.mark,jacob"?

thanks
