[classic] Links containing parentheses are parsed incorrectly
What the title says. As the title states, this is a bug in the Classic interface; I think it's been fixed in the AJAX interface, which however I would rather avoid using for a variety of reasons.
For example, a recent email (Wikia Updates) contained the following link, which should have been parsed in the manner indicated: http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Ha...0&oldid=776459 However, it actually got parsed like this: http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Ha..._Phoenix_(film)?s=wldiff&diff=0&oldid=776459 This happens with all URLs containing parenthesised items, which includes quite a few from Wikia. It can of course be worked around, but I'd rather be able to just click such links without fuss. Are any of the FM devs listening? |
Thanks for the report. I've passed it on to our developers. It's not that we "fixed" it in the new UI and not in Classic - the new UI was developed completely separately.

I've just pushed a fix to production. Thanks for the report.

This issue looks to have been resolved, thanks people! :)
(I'm not 100% sure as I don't know for certain that my log-in link is logging into the Classic interface. It's the one which opens links in the same window, so I think it's the Classic one; IIRC the AJAX interface opens links in a new window.) |
The new AJAX interface has the Compose button in the upper left (above the folder tree). When you open a message, you will see these buttons near the top: Archive, Delete, Report Spam, Move To, Mark.
The classic interface has the Compose button in the top menus (Mail, Compose, Address Book, Notepad, Files). The top of the screen doesn't look as described above when reading a message. Bill |
