UK Petrol Prices

Quote:

The cost of filling an average family car with petrol has hit GBP100 (USD125) for the first time as fuel prices keep rising.

What are you paying to fuel up in your neck of the woods?

We filled up last night with diesel, it was P2,084 or $39.34 US. It was P78.05 per liter we were at just under a half tank, capacity is 55 liters.

This is cheaper that a lot of stations selling diesel for over P80 per liter, I saw one station at P85, gas is much higher.

This is neat site for looking up prices world wide.

I live in Texas (US) and own two vehicles:
  • Ford Fusion Energi PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle). This car has sufficient all-electric range for me to be able to get around town most days in electric mode, but I can drive further using the integrated very efficient gasoline engine. I purchase renewable (wind and solar generated) electricity at my house, so driving this vehicle usually makes use of no greenhouse gas combustion.
  • Dodge Caravan minivan. This was my work vehicle when I retired from technical sales three years ago. I was an Appliciation Engineer for Tektronix. I purchased the minivan because it was available at a very good price from my previous employer and I occasionally need to move larger items (such as 4x8 foot sheets of material). This vehicle only uses an internal combustion gasoline engine, but I don't drive it very often.
I’m building a new house with solar panels and battery ESS (energy storage system). So by late this year I will be able to charge the car directly using the solar panels on my roof. Sometime in the next few years I will be swapping to a full EV (electric vehicle).

So I don’t care very much about the price of gasoline or diesel fuel for my personal transportation.

Prices here are quite like those at UK.
Anyway, prices of gasoline for vehicles are affected by taxations, and the government here reduced those taxes lately to control the increase of gas prices that affect other sectors of the economy.
I found a comparison of gas prices in many countries.
It seems like Venezuela or Lybia or Iran are good places to fill up right now.
Or Russia if looking for a gas station in Europe.
