Which webmail email provider are you using?
It might be a Firefox extension/add-on which is blocking that portion of the screen. Also, some webmail systems allow users to hide buttons or toolbars. Without knowing which email system you are using it’s hard to make any more suggestions. But I would start by removing or disabling all Firefox extensions/add-ons and making sure you are using the latest version of Firefox. Then reboot the computer. Is it a PC running Windows 10 or 11? Checkboxes or reading pane must be in use to see message action icons in Gmail
Go to Settings (the gear icon in the upper right), scroll down, and set "READING PANE" TO "No split".
Now if you select Inbox, you should only see the three following tools above the "Primary .. Promotions .. Social" line. The other tools are hidden. You should see:
Now go to Settings (gear icon) and chance the "READING PANE" to either of the other choices (right of inbox or below inbox). You will now see all 10 icons at the top if you select a message or move through your messages using the j/k keyboard shortcuts. So my guess is that on the PC which was not showing the icons, you did not have the reading pane visible. If you had clicked a message (or checked it) you should have seen the icons. Those icons only appear if you are reading a message in a reading pane or if a message is selected with a checkbox. Those are action tools which can only can be used when one or more messages or selected in some way (checkboxes or by reading a message). Bill |
