Because when it was enabled, it was abused to post unsuitable images (IIRC, gory pictures of what smoking does to the lungs).

Yup IMAGES are enabled for PMs only where they cant be offensive to the general public...... (Guests can see everything here remember)

I'm curious, couldn't there be a provision (not sure if it is possible) to only allow images after a person has been on the forum for x number of months, or has made x number of posts? I'd doubt most older forum people would post such pictures, but who knows :(
It is sad how maybe a few people ruined things for everyone. unless these were day 1 accounts/spam/bots etc

That would mean Edwin being interested enough to change this forum.

Can you see that happening?

No, neither can I.

There are ways to point to images within posts - indeed I made up a simple web page some time ago to show one way to do it:

http://emd.fastmail.com.user.fm/how-...in-a-emd-post/

Granted it will take longer than if this forum had the ability to include images, but if one really wants to get an image seen, it can be done as I've described.

IIRC, the unacceptable images were posted by a long-term user.

ugh. what a shame. it sucks when one person ruins everything for everyone else. i thought the long time forum members were more mature than that :(
