Unpleasant font resizing on iOS app start

I've set my UI font to 'System font'. Now every now and then when I open my iOS app, the font becomes jerkily smaller in two or three steps. Not a big thing, but at least ugly.

Do you also see this or is it something special about my device?

This is not what I recognize on my iPad (2017). Maybe slow conection at startup? What is your device?
