Document scanning help needed
I have been struggling with this for awhile. All help will be appreciated.
What I am trying to do is to scan a document (via the printer feeder) to an image (or any other useable format) - the image needs to be less than 10 MB as I am planning to email this elsewhere. Currently I am using Windows professional edition and the available tools that come with it (scanner and camera wizard) + the tools available for my printer (which is a Brother MFC-290C) seem to limit the size of the scan (lengthways) to a length too short for my document. The document is 35 cm long x 16 cm wide. Is there any way to accomplish this and (if possible) how could it be printed at the other end. Many Thanks David |
Scan it in two parts, use photoshop and merge them together. Use photoshop to adjust the size of the file to less than 10mb if needed.

David, you can use a program that's built into Windows called Paint. After you scan you could save it as a .jpg (if your scanner will let you) or a picture format paint will know. Then scan the second half and save. Then open the first half in paint, copy the second half and paste into paint and drag the second copy down to where it fits perfectly. You may have to change the attribute height (Image/Attributes) to get it to fit lengthwise. After that you can always resize the picture (Image/Resize/Skew) so it can be printed on normal size paper by anyone.

Remember that when you paste it pastes in at the top left (so it looks like it overwrote the first one). It's still active so you can drag it down. Also, after resizing when you think it should fit on a normal size page (8½x11) you can click File (top left) then print preview to make sure it fits on one page. When resizing and it doesn't look big or small enough click Edit/Undo. Otherwise if you keep resizing the new sizes it can start to look a little blurry.

If you have a good camera then that should do it.
(but then it can be kinda fun to learn to work with pictures) :) Sherry |

Hello!
I want to know if I click a picture of any document then I could use it as a scanned document. |
