I'm having trouble getting from the "plain text" to the "make rich text" on the compose screen.

I'm certain this is a problem with my computer and not with fastmail since it worked on another...

If you go to Options>Account Preferences and scroll all the way down to "View", the last setting is for "Default direction". Change that to 'Mailbox' and save. It might work the way you like.

I had the same problem when using IE7. Cleared the cache, cookies, history to have the sidebar reset. Works fine on Firefox 3 and Safari 3.2.

You should be able to see all the contacts...

Yeah, this happens to me as well. It's annoying. I'm also using Firefox (3.0.3), but it happens in IE (7.0.5) on WinXP as well.

Try closing the folder-tree for your 'Fastmail' folder. The sub-folder (co...) has an unread message, which will cause your 'Fastmail' folder to become bold when it is closed.
