This hard disk is obviously a very critical piece of hardware in the Fastmail system. Is it part of a fault-tolerant RAID array? If so, why did the system fail when the drive failed? If not, why not?...

I'm wondering about this as well. "www.fastmail.fm" is used as the web server and as the IMAP and SMTP server entries in our email client programs, so if that server's hosed, we're screwed all...
