$24/year for domain hosted email with the reliability and features of gmail is reasonable. Sure, there are other providers that may be cheaper but not very many.

The last time I looked they have a $10/month minimum so that means 5 mailboxes at $2/each. However, there is a Spiceworks discount that gives 50% off so you can get 5 mailboxes for $5/month minimum.
