Updates: workaround and suggestions for a simple fix

I contacted FM and their suggested workaround is to create a template page with signature and banner, storing it in the Templates folder.
This works fine EXCEPT that it will not work when replying...

Seems hard to believe, but I have replicated it TWICE, no THREE times just to be sure:

-from Compose screen, do a normal text entry - then "Save now"
-click on "Drafts" .. it is there, but empty...

It definitely would help to be able to sync / backup to a local spot, either an xml file or a special Notes subfolder in our email (automated!) so the sync feature can piggyback on the IMAP...
