That site fails to say whether it's still illegal in Britain to fail to attend at least one Church service on Christmas Day.  If it is (and I think it is), then nearly the entire population are criminals!

Mind you, I've spotted one error (apart from the usual error of confusing "England" with "Britain"); the site states that "those wishing to purchase a television must also buy a license."  In fact, as established by a test case in 1984, it is not illegal to buy, own or even use a TV without a license; what is illegal without a TV license is to receive TV broadcasts, so anyone who owns a TV only for use as a monitor (for a home computer, games console, videocassette player or DVD player — provided, in the last two cases, that they watch only prerecorded tapes/DVDs and not ones recorded for them by a friend) is doing so legally.

I used to have a colour TV which for some 12 years was the monitor for my Spectrum; I still have a black-and-white TV — it's a bedside table.
