IE can actually do this too, if you install the power toys.
For ages I've had three set up for Google:
gg - search Google normal
ggg - search Google groups
ggc - lookup the URL in the cache
The 'ggc' option is really good because if you get a 404 or server not found error you just need to whack 'ggc' in front of the URL and try again!
I recently added:
ggt - translate the page (seems to use automatic language detection)
You could also add ggs - to restrict the search to a particular site.
The actual urls to use (with the %s) are pretty easy to guess, (and I'd list them if I was at home...).
