Hi UnhappySoul,

You will need, at a minimum, a web host provider that has MySQl (database) and PHP(web programming language). Most, if not all, web providers will be able to tell if they can support your discussion board before you sign up.

The other thing to keep in mind is how many people you predict will access your discussion board it one time. The amount of people on your discussion board will effect the web host providers server that most likely has more than one web site on it with you. I've heard of many web host providers that have forced discussion board operators to move to a higher plan or else leave as they are consuming too many server resources for what they (you) are paying.
