A feature I would like to see (which would meet this requirement and many others) is a kind of macro capability. The idea is that a sequence of keyboard actions could be chained together and given a name. Hitting an 'execute macro' key would then bring up a list of macros to be chosen from. The nice thing about such an approach is that it would allow many new features to be added to the interface without adding clutter. A quick change to any desired item in the Settings menu would be a good example. Macros could include standard ones provided by FastMail as well as user defined ones.
