I'm glad it's working for you now. I know it's aggravating when you can't figure out how to do something that must be possible!
If all else fails, don't forget to left-click or right-click on areas of the screen related to what you want to use. At my job we produce software which uses right-clicks to show a menu with choices meaningful to that area of the display.
