Just throwing this out here:
We now also support Apple Push Notifications.
Took us a bit to get it done because all open-source solutions apply to having one server only ( aka cPanel ) whereas we run a distributed , load balanced architecture. This meant we had to write our own solution from scratch, pretty much like Fastmail did. For the moment we don't monitor the entire mailbox for changes, just the Inbox but it works great and it's pretty much instant.
