How do I write and activate batch file for email?

I hope that is the only thing I need now to make it automativ while I am away for many month.

I've searched the internet using google from 7 AM to 3PM but failed to learn how to.

The batchfile need to start when winxp is fully loaded and it should open opera and take home email or open thunderbird and take home email.
afterthat it should send message to a program to disconnect from ISP to conect it does automatic using that program.

so please somebody teach me to set up a batch file that laod and run automatically.
