Thanks for at least telling me it does work as now I have something to aim at. I just tried a portable version of Thunderbird and get the same results as I do with my Bat! client. It's all very odd.
I've never heard of Claws-Mail but I'll take a look at it just to see how it sets things up server wise, this may give me a clue as to what I may be doing wrong (although to be honest I can't see how I can set up two clients incorrectly
)
I'm very impressed with the Gmx pop3 server, it's lightning fast and the few test messages I've sent to my account get through straight away. No delays like with Yahoo or some others I tried.
Thanks for the input people, I'll just have to troubleshoot step by step and hopefully get it sorted.
