I was checking out regulations regarding transfers at
ICAN According to this only the registrant or the admin contact can instigate the transfer process. It is important I think to ensure that if you are the owner of any domain name that
your name is entered in the whois record as
admin contact in order to ensure that the domain cannot be transferred without your prior knowledge. --david
