M2W Translation

I've used the translator, and when it works it is OK. It is sometimes down, tho. Keep in mind that it is a machine traslation - generally understandable to the recipient, but far from perfect. It also doesn't take into account regionalisms and dialects. English/Spanish translations, for example, will probably sound more acceptable in, say, Spain than in south Texas. However, it is acceptable in getting the general message accross. It works best if you use short simple sentences, don't use contractions, and don't use slang and regionalisms.

What is fun to do on this site is to take a phrase or short paragraph and type it in in English. Translate it into any language. Copy the result, then paste it in again. Have it translated back into English. Like playing telephone, you can translate it thru a number of different languages and then see how it comes out again. The web site http://www.tashian.com/multibabel/ does something similar.

M2W also will translate into Arabic. People get taken aback when they get an email in Arabic - LOL - especially if you use a "user@mail2afghanistan.com" address.
