Using Yandex for years...its very good imho. I dont see how a war (which yandex has nothing to do with) can be stopped by not using an email service from Russia. Besides Yandex also has servers outside Russia.(as in Finland) They also have a HQ in the Netherlands at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam.
Mail.ru is another story....they are inclusively Russian and also totaly based in Russia.
