If I die tomorrow, my family will inherit my PC along with all the peripherals. They won't be able to access the content, because it's all encrypted with TrueCrypt. But they'll be perfectly able to reformat the hard drive and install a fresh copy of Windows, Linux, or whatever else they want. That's what it means for somebody to "inherit" a physical, tangible object.
Anyway, this thread must be a zombie, it just won't die!
