Got the IMAP working, I got tricked by the automatic assigned password for the email account. Found the following warning message on the account sign in page and reset it.

IMPORTANT! Your
MeMail account password is separate from your
webmail inbox password(s).
To reset an inbox password, login to MeMail and visit
products > reset passwords from your dashboard.
