Not an expression I've ever used or cared for much, but it was the first thing that came to mind when I read his explanation, nonetheless.
But George III reminded me of my brother, Byron III. But to my grandmother -- who I guess never considered him exactly her favorite grandchild -- at least out of his earshot, "Byron the third" became Byron the turd.
