Fastmail outgoing mails down ? (Friday 2017-03-31)

For all my emails I send in the last hour(s) or so, I received a warning, pointing to some internal fialing system "mailuser.nyi.internal[/var/run/lmtpforward/outgoing]
said: 421 4.4.1 No outgoing server connection via compute4 "

So i guess, fastmail outgoing mails are down?

However, no outage reported on the status page (https://www.fastmailstatus.com/)

This is the mail system at host mailuser.nyi.internal.

I filled a fastmail support ticket and I received this answer 10 minutes ago:

Hi,

Sorry about that. Our engineers are aware of this issue, and are working on it. We hope to have it resolved soon. I’ll let you know when this is fixed.

I would have expected to see an entry on the fastmailstatus.com site before someone takes the time to send an email to customer support and it get's answered as well... Also, because this error occurs for several hours already.

Yes, I am also surprised that the status page reports that everything is ok.
IMHO they should update the status page first.
IMHO2: I actually think they should make the status page automated (i.e. monitoring services)

What was the resolution on this? Is the problem still pending? Has there been an explanation as to why the status page was not updated?

The problem is resolved. No clue what caused it or why the status page was not updated.

It's possible that only you (or a very small number of people) were affected. Remember that Fastmail reported a network connection problem between some racks the previous day. I wonder if your problem is related.

Fastmail also uses the automated Pingdom system to keep track of remote connection problems:

Of course, it's hard to completely automate status pages.
