Then why does Pobox advertise 50 GB of storage?

It will not (imho)

Pobox has always specialised in forwarding. It is their magnum opus!

Only if you have an Enhanced, Family or Business account, which of course are not free.

Does that mean they are worse at storage?

No: what it means is that it is easy to get lost in the crowd. If you concentrate on doing everything, better than anyone else, you will usually be beaten (at some point in time) by a competitor.

If you have gained a reputation (as Pobox has) for doing one single thing (better than anyone else) you become widely known, and acclaimed, for that one single thing. Pobox. com developed forwarding systems (that work without problems) eighteen years ago now, while others as yet (to this day) are still struggling to attain that.

i started with endjunk for the primary reason of creating a disposable email address
that service ended so i now use spamgourmet but their control system is not the greatest, considering its free i cant complain

i may try pobox and if it looks better im happy to pay $20

so lets say i am buying a product or registering on a forum, i dont want to use my personal address because sometimes spam will just keep coming with no unsubscribe option

spamgourmet allows me to do the following

while registering i use the sites domain in my new address ie; amazon.myusername@spamgourmet.com

now if i get spam i can disable that address and my real account is safe

my only worry is that spamgourmet may close as its totally free and not sure how long they will support

Hi,

Money is not a problem, that Pobox.com is for you.

Every week, I am getting 1000+ SPAM and checking Pobox.com once a week only.

I am happy with them and account is paid till 2021 too.

I have just one request to them, I need more alias and ready to pay for it. but they are not allowing more than 6.

That's out. I think the people from after 90s, 00s, won't use a forward only service.
They are losing the young guys.

ankupan,

It's true that pobox don't let you have more than 6 pobox addresses.
But you can have 20-100 (depending on your account type) addresses at your own domains.
Besides, pobox let you use plus (+) addressing: youraddress+anystring@pobox.com.
So if your pobox address is ankupan@pobox.com you can use:
ankupan+home@pobox.com, ankupan+work@pobox.com, ankupan+keep@pobox.com etc...
In fact you have unlimited number of aliases.
All this works with all types (including basic) pobox accounts and requires no extra pay

xboxhaxorz,

I'm a very happy pobox customer since 2001
During all these years their service has beed superb!!
I didn't have a single problem or complaint!
Besides forwarding they have excellent (the best available imho) spam filters, so regardless how much spam is sent to my pobox address, my inbox is spam-free!
Highly recommended!

Oded.
