Have been paying for family account for some time now, but don't like being forced from the classic interface one bit. Must look for alternative email options!

To a first approximation, the cost of supporting an old feature is independent of the number of users of that feature. But if only ten users are using that feature, then the feature is probably not worth supporting. (I wouldn't be surprised if a significant fraction of users of the classic interface are posting on this very thread )

Dark humor. I love it.

1) I am very sorry to learn the classic UI is going away soon! I've been using it since I joined over 8 years ago.

2) Dunno if this has been covered, but is there a way to make the folders show the current number of e-mails?

Like this...

Trash (4/22)

This seems to be missing in the new interface. Unless I missed something...

You can do it in firefox with an ad on. I did have a post somewhere on here a long time ago advising how to do it.

The number of unread messages always is shown in the folder tree. Click the Create or edit folders link below the folder tree to see both the total and unread message counts per folder.

Not so strange. I often donate money to good causes that I have no expectation of needing to use myself, for example Doctors Without Borders. Fastmail believes it has benefited from the open source community generally, and wishes to give back to the community by supporting worthy projects.

How would a fox plugin affect a FM directory?
And which plugin does that?

If you hover your mouse over a folder, a box pops up with the number of messages, and the number of unread messages is always displayed on the far right of it, and in the title (and tab) bar of the browser. In the page that loads after clicking that link that Bill posted, the number of messages are displayed for all folders as read#(unread#).

Thanks for the additional comments, Bruce. I was at a restaurant on my iPad, and wasn't thinking about hover because it's not possible on that browser with touchscreen.

Just as a reminder to all, Fastmail has updated their help with new keyboard shortcuts and a transition guide for those currently using the Classic interface:Bill

You require a firefox plug in called user styles, then paste this script in, it will show your folder count without have to hover your mouse over the folders.
It's just a work round as I hated have to hover my mouse.

.v-FolderSource:after {
content: " " attr(title);
;font-size: 12px;
}

Open Forefox and download https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/

Then go to tools in Firefox, then add-ons, then extensions, find stylish, then edit and then paste the script below also give it your script name.

click save and restart Firefox.

.v-FolderSource:after {
content: " " attr(title);
font-size: 12px;
}
