DAVx⁵ CardDav Syncing failing without error messages

I'm trying to set up DAVx⁵ to sync Carddav to my Android phone.

I finally got it working, but I'm not seeing groups appear...

It has an option to select:
Groups are separate vCards
Groups are per-contact Categories

Which should I select, and what is the benefit of either selection?

As far as I know, syncing contacts with a mobile phone using the CardDAV protocol. Apple iPhone, iPad, Mac support CardDAV protocol by default. Before you start synchronizing contacts using CardDAV protocol, you need to go to the My page and select the Security item. Although in my opinion the whole problem is this, just the developers’s flaw. Most likely they missed something or didn’t have enough when developing.

Yes, works perfectly on my iPhone and Mac. I am not saying that to be snarky, just to let you know that Fastmail's CardDAV does work.

Fyi, I don't know what I did after I initially posted that, but I fiddled with the settings and it's been working perfectly ever since. No problems at all! I'm moving all my contacts out of Google.
