I will have to experiment more, but this does seem to help a lot with speed.

Please note, the label is:

The one you referenced in your post was removed in an update.

Thank you for this very important piece of information.

After I experiment more I will post again.

I reckon in part it's provider's bandwith. A large name provider like may have a lot of customers. In such cases, the bandwith is stretched between a large number of users.

On a smaller provider with less customers, and say a good connection speed, you'd get your bigger files more easily. I've personally gone for the smaller providers because you get far better speeds, you get your emails down far faster and more reliably.

I know this sounds odd, but's Active sync option for accessing your email is very fast on a speedy connection. If you want good speed, and sharing with a mobile device, it may be worth say paying 20/30 a year with your own domain. This way you pay for good speed and service.

I'd personally recommend asking someone like , and tidyhosts to name a couple. This is my own thoughts and what works for me.

Thank you for your thoughts.

So far, my testing on polarismail shows an observable speed improvement when setting fetch by chunks to false.

I will be trying it on in the future.
