What is best free email provider with biggest capacity?

I'm collecting most of my emails with gmail but would like to back them up on another we based account. Which is best performer large capacity free email provider? I use fastmail with IMAP for really essential stuff which I back up on my local PC, but I also collect fastmail stuff on gmail because it has best search capabilities..... In addition I catch my wife's gmail account on my gmail as well as have all my yahoo group stuff go to gmail... I like to have a certain level of backup security even if it's only on another web based server... Hope that's explains the original question....!!

If you are doing backup, you will need a service that is stable and reliable. I don't find any of those other GB services any stable than gmail. They may have bigger size but they don't have the impression they can last or always avaliable.

For stable options, all with 250MB storage for free, in order of my preference:

Yahoo
Netscape
MSN/Hotmail (last resort!)
I think you're asking two different questions. The biggest and the best are probably two different providers...

could yahoo be most reliable but not the best then

Could yahoo be most reliable but not the best then the web interface is very slow when I have the Australian Ads going.

Maybe I should go over to yahoo sweden instead. or are their servers in US or in england maybe?

But for how long.

Yahoo is probably has the best combo of size, stability, and functionality for free. The China accounts have no advertising, and you can get it upgraded to 1GB, but I'm a bit concerned about the privacy on a China specific account.

Firefox does have extensions that wipe out the ads.
