How do I set up my andriod phone for Fastmail?
I had to perform a factory reset on my HTC Magic, but before doing so I took down various setting information so I could re-enter.
I cannot get Fastmail to work again, these are the settings I wrote down and am trying to re-use: Incoming Server Settings username: myname@fastmail.fm password: xxxxxxxxxx IMAP Server: mail.messagingengine.com Port: 143 IMAP path prefix: INBOX Outgoing Server Settings: SMTP Server: mail.messagingengine.com Port: 23 username: myname@fastmail.fm password: xxxxxxxxxx Please could someone help me with this? Many thanks, Malc |

SMTP Port is wrong. It should be 25, 465 or 587:

I have seen K-9 mentioned a few times, but not sure if I need anything fancy for my phone. Particularly if it is battery hungry or takes up a lot of space. Seems to have mixed reviews in Android Market. Malc |

For your information: I use the secure proxy servers over port 80 which increases the chance of being able to connect, regardless on which (public) network you are
(see http://www.fastmail.fm/help/remote_e...and_ports.html) IMAP/SSL: imaps-proxy.messagingengine.com SMTP/SSL: smtps-proxy.messagingengine.com Actually, they take any port, so you can't go wrong... |
