Mac OSX and shared fastmail address books

Hi All for the last few days I have been struggling to get my OSX contacts to work with my Fastmail SHARED contacts via Carddav. We only used shared contacts as all of our contacts are shared we do not have any personal copntacts.

I have been in touch with Fastmail and after some days they have now come back to me to say that it does not work and recommending i use Thunderbird!! they have also changed their help instructions to say that shared contacts don't work with OSX !

I have no wish to use Thunderbird and I also have a feeling that this used to work correctly.

Has anyone else managed to get Fastmail SHARED contacts to work with OSX (via CARDDAV)
