Question on attachments

Hi Guys

I use Firefox, I email via Yahoo. I saved a webpage as an HTML I think.

Now I've sent that saved webpage as an attachment, will the receipent of

the attachment be able to see my favourites bookmarks list?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Welcome to the EMD Forums!

No, your browser bookmarks are not saved as long as you save the HTML page. In Firefox you do this as follows:
  • Click Open Menu icon in upper right (four horizontal lines)
  • Click Save Page
  • Navigate to the desired folder and save as Web Page, complete
  • When you send the email, add the web page you saved (HTM or HTML file) as an attachment.
  • The recipient will be able to see everything sent by the original website, but nothing else from your browser (such as bookmarks or favorites).
  • But I would be very careful about doing this. The recipient can see the URL or other action for each link on the page (by hovering over it), and in some cases this might reveal some private information (such as the last page you browsed or you account number at some service). Poorly designed websites might allow the recipient to appear to be you at that website! Well designed websites normally use cookies which will prevent such serious security issues.
  • In general, I would rather send someone the URL for that web page or a screen capture of just the portion of the page I want the recipient to see. I use the Windows Snipping Tool.
