Merging accounts revisited
There have been discussions on this subject before, this is slightly different and the last discussion was in 2016 so I thought I'd check whether there are new suggestions.
The 2016 discussion is at http://emaildiscussions.com/showthread.php?t=61173 and is very useful. When I joined, I signed up for 3 free basic accounts but then fastmail started to charge but offered a reduced rate for three years and I took this offer up. The holiday has now ended but in the meantime I have been realising just how powerful their service is and have been using aliases. NB I have a basic account, I cannot see an option to rename it. So, and these examples are fictitious, I have smith@fastmail.fm and jones@fastmail.fm and I created an alias smith@mm.st. I want to close the smith account and merge it into the jones account. If I understand correctly I can just delete the alias smith@mm.st in the smith account and add the alias to the jones account. Magic. It's harder to transfer smith@fastmail.fm but one way is to close the account and create smith@fastmail.fm as an alias in jones@fastmail.fm. Am I talking through my hat and is there a better way? |

Unless you have reason to certain about this I'd go through support. |
