Sure, that's not the BEST position to find oneself in for these superheroes. And for the rest of us, lesser mortals, too.

Surely you JEST -- you can't mean such "friends" from the Wild Wild West as the evil Dr. Miguelito Loveless! What a scoundrel!

Is it implied that we shouldn't continue to BEAT the super hero subject to a pulp? Of course, many of the dear readers may be too young to remember James T. West (not to be confused with James E. West, who was a real hero to everyone who uses a microphone) or Napoleon Solo or John Steed.

How about ducks? I vote for the TEAL. Or we can discuss the color.

Not a big DEAL. Teal is (0,128,128) - the colour, not the duck...

This "DEAR reader" does remember "The Wild Wild West", "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.", and "The Avengers".

It brings a TEAR to my eye thinking about a duck being shot by one of those protagonists. But it might be hard to tell for sure that it was truly a teal, since the early episodes were in black and white.
