Tag-lines: have your say!
Well, all guest users are by now well aware that after April 18 tag-lines will be added to outgoing mail when using the web interface, since it's in big red writing on the pricing page, it is on the about page, and we've emailed everyone twice...
So, for those of you who are going to be affected by this, now's your chance to have your say! Make a suggestion for a tag-line that you think reflects FastMail.FM's capabilities and approach in just a few words!... It can be up to two lines long. Here's a few ideas to get the ball rolling: Quote:

We may also add a feature where if you include a hyperlink to http://fastmail.fm in your signature we won't add the tagline; that way you can create your own... We haven't made a final decision on this yet however and it won't be this way in the first release. We plan to have a list of taglines that we randomly select from. That way the full range of features will be mentioned over time... |

Fastmail.fm - does exactly what it says in the name -- Fastmail.fm - not another radio station -- Fastmail.fm - so good some of us use taglines voluntarily! (I actually have once or twice) -- Fastmail.fm - more features than you can shake a stick at -- Fastmail.fm - "Fast" .. "mail" .. Need a diagram? -- Fastmail.fm - Do YOU know who Jeremy is? -- Fastmail.fm - the E in Email (sorry Jeremy, couldn't resist!) Okay. I'll stop now. |

Something different
I am not a copywriter either, but I'd like to have my say too.
What about something like: DON'T visit http://fastmail.fm or: DON'T click on http://fastmail.fm or: http://fastmail.fm DON'T click on the link! Seriously, this is (IMO) less annoying than many other taglines, and IMVHO much funnier, and no less effective. If not, I'd suggest: http://fastmail.fm or: http://fastmail.fm quick as a click (BTW I'm a relatively new guest fastmail.fm user, so I'm going to be affected too.) |

On the whole in dealing with our customers I've found them kind, generous, and thoughtful. If there's 0.01% of people who are just plain not nice, well so be it... I don't think they're the kinds of people we'd want promoting the service anyway! |

Clarification / addition
There are those, like me, who don't wish to harm;
They are only joking. I personally set the tagline part to something like: DON'T visit http://fastmail.fm (This was a customizable tagline) The fact that it's a joke is clear. If, beside any spelling / grammar mistakes, you have any problem with such tagline, I'll IMMEDIATELY drop using it after you bring it to my attention. I didn't mean to abuse the feature, but only to personalize it. |

I hope this wasn't copyrighted ;-) but I have seen something like this in another thread:
----- All webmails suck. FastMail.FM sucks less. ----- That is quite a good one I reckon! And for those who try to temper their signature and enter 'Don't use FastMail.FM', you could add: 'So why Do I use it so?' SM |

Thanks!
I'm glad I probably will be able to use that feature. I think it's cute too. Another thing specific to my chosen tagline is that it's intentionally has equal number of characters in its two lines. I like it so. That's also why it says "was" instead of "is". |

Also, if someone is not using the fastmail.fm domain (like me) it wouldn't be obvious to the recipient that the sender was, in fact, using fastmail.fm. Michael |
