Sent emails remain in drafts folder

After sending an email I had composed and saved in Drafts, it remains in my drafts folder.

Previous posts said -

you need to go into your account preferences for each email account you have and uncheck the "save drafts on server" in the advanced tab.

But it won’t let me uncheck it.

Also, if I alter /amend an email in the drafts folder, it'll save both copies, the old and the new.

Who is your mail account with? Are you using an email client or a webmail system? Which one(s)?
