Calendar appointment import question
Sometimes I am invited to download an appointment as an .ics file Let's say it's 'appointment.ics'
I'm using Windows 10 and I can get the appointment to turn up in my Outlook or the native Mail app. I can import it to my Fastmail calendar using Thunderbird. Is there any way to import it directly to my Fastmail calendar, please? Edit to add: I mean I want to add it through the Fastmail web calendar Last edited by Fenman : 28 Mar 2022 at 03:05 PM. You can import individual calendar files - invitations etc as follows:
1] Settings 2] Import & Setup 3] click the link: "Upload or download mail, contacts, and calendars -->" 4] Choose Calendar File button - a file explorer dialogue box will open 5] Navigate to the location of the ics file & select it 6] The next page will offer a dropdown to select which calendar you want the event in, then Push the Upload button You should see a confirmation that the calendar was uploaded. I have previously ticketed FM to ask if there is a simpler method to upload individual events but the answer was no. FM support didn't seem to 'get' the use case. They kept suggesting to just accept event invitations, not understanding that many events are not received via direct invitation but by application where a calendar file is subsequently sent (but not an invitation as such). |

Thanks very much, gardenweed! I'm pleased there's a way but it's a pity Fastmail can't find something more intuitive or easy to use.

What I would like to see (and that superficially would not be too difficult) is to add the option to upload to your calendar if you select a .ics file which is an attachment in an email. Maybe, it is more difficult than it seems because of the need to specify what to do if events/reminders already exist with conflicting options.
