Ovi.com now NokiaMail.com

Nokia has changed the Ovi.com service to NokiaMail.com.

Still powered by Yahoo, and your OVI.com address should still work, but now much more strongly branded and no more new OVI.com addresses.

I tested to go this url
https://www.nokiamail.com/
and my browser had that one not listed
for automatic fill in details so I had to
enter my username and password and
that worked. One don't need the whole
email address as on some other services.

Where do they tell such things as how much space
in the inbox and how often one have to log in to
keep it and such?

If I have the old username at ovi.com
and sombody send to username at nokiamail.com
would that work? or do they have to remember
to only send to username at ovi.com?

Well it just looks now a relabeled yahoo account - not so unique.

beware nokiamail... their mobile email client has become a paid for service. their app is free, and you get a free trial, but they do then bill you if you continue to use their client after the trial period... even if you use it to manage other email accounts. like yahoo, orange, hotmail, our own etc.

good that you told us but I get curious then.

1. Nokia email client app on Nokia windows or symbian?
2. Nokiamail.com webmail does that trigger the app?
3. Using Firefox on a computer does that trigger the mobile app in any way?

The above does only relate to Nokia mobile email client

any name of such? Could it be Microsoft push mail of some sort?
I have a now old Nokia E75 and most likely it has an email client
in the Symbian? But I don't remember one have to pay for that one

so most likely you are talking about the new Nokia Microsoft
mobile operating system and them maybe has a special email app?

Just using the webmail interface should not use an app does it?

Thanks for the warning but I fail to get exactly what app it is about

That app definitely free 3 years or so ago, as I use to make use of it but since then I've been on android and then an Iphone, and all the time using my own domain push email through built in software but if it has become paid, it's no surprise knowing the problems Nokia has been having.

I have old <my_user_name>@ovi.com email address, but when I send email to <my_user_name>@nokiamail.com , email bounced back. From other side, user name <my_user_name> is not available for registration in @nokiamail domain. It's similar to some yahoo domains: you can't register same user name in @yahoo.co.uk and, for example, @yahoo.co.il .

I would consider signing up for Nokia Mail. But I guess you have to have a Nokia device. How long will they stay with Yahoo after the Microsoft acquisition?

Microsoft haven't acquired Nokia, only the mobile device business. So...unless nokia have something in their mind, yahoo tie up will continue...

Yes and no. Yes, you can still register. No, a Nokia device is not required.

Simply register at https://acp.nokiamail.com/ using any device, including a computer.
