GOOD GRIEF, I just discovered ANOTHER MISSING feature in the New UI....
the Classic UI use to have when viewing an email give you time in (hours, minutes, etc)
its been since the email was received..
and.. I just discovered that if you mouse over the time/date in the folder view right pane
it will give u a rough estimate of time in hours and days as far as I have seen at this point
and displays the full date as well with the mouse over..
Is this the missing feature: https://www.dropbox.com/s/w082vpo4ym...ltime.png?dl=0

A feature not in the new version is the ability to send emails from any address. Previously you could click on the ID selector
and type any email addy in the empty window, now you can't.

They also dropped the 'Copy Email' function. Now you can only move emails. Not to mention the missing address book on the left.

When you want to email someone you have to type a letter in their name.

on the compose screen yeah.. that will be missed too... I guess maybe not too big a deal but.. what if u can't recall the name u want to add to "To:"
I remember things visually so..

whats the point of being able to pin contacts still,
when FastMail REMOVED the pinned list from the left side of the compose screen xD

The "pinned" function is now under the Search window.

Search mail >> Advanced Search >> Is Pinned

Click "Search"

Just noticed we lost the 'Format Text' function that aligns the words so they wrap correctly...

Is it more, less or the same?

Based on your description, the date/time information while viewing an email is the same and therefore not missing.

I will grant that the displayed date/time information in a folder's email list is minimal. Since I don't recall the details of the classic UI, I don't know if this is different.

Use the Alt key while dragging to create copy in a different folder.

ERR WRONG!.. That Advanced "SEARCH" functionality applies to PINNED EMAILS!!

NOT TO CONTACTS in the ADDRESS BOOK!!
THAT WERE in the Classic UI visible on the left side of the compose screen for quick access!

What do you mean by "page".? From my Inbox list, I click and drag with the Alt key pressed to a folder in my folder list and I end up with a copy in the target folder and the original still in the Inbox list.

You're right, I was thinking of pinned emails. I've never pinned contacts from the address book.

We keep losing good functions...

I use linux. When I do what you said the entire window moves, so no copy. Only move.

Arrow Suggestions for Classic users

You will find answers to most questions about the transition from classic to the normal user interface at:
https://www.fastmail.com/help/guides...ransition.html

Many additional features can be performed by using a keyboard shortcut:
https://www.fastmail.com/help/receive/kbshortcuts.html

Some features are dependent on the browser you are using. For common Windows browsers, ALT+drag copies a message. I think that this drags windows in some Linux browsers, depending on how they are set up. Browser support is shown here:
https://www.fastmail.com/help/techni...dbrowsers.html

You can get addresses into an addressing field in several ways:
  • Type a few characters of the contact name in the field. Then use the Enter key. If you get multiple choices, move up/down with the keyboard arrows then user Enter or click on the desired one.
  • If you are commonly sending to a group of addresses, create an address book group in Settings, then add members to that group in the Address Book screen. In an addressing field on the Compose screen you can enter groups to see all of your groups, or just enter the group name. If you have multiple hits due to similar names of contacts and groups, enter multiple terms such as car group to find find that group rather than contacts whose name starts with the three letters "car". You can create an alias which will send messages from anyone (your or others) to all members of that group (distribution list).
  • In the Address Book you can select multiple contacts by using the checkboxes at the left of each contact. Then use the Compose button at the top to get all of those addresses into the To field. If you want to move them to Cc or Bcc, just copy/paste the addresses between addressing fields (CTL-A, CTL-C, then CTL-V or right-click to paste).
If a feature described in the help isn't working as described, I suggest you file a support request. The support system has changed in the past month, so see more about it here:

I don't have a native Linux environment but I did test Mint 18 in Parallels on my Mac.

Yes, Alt-drag does move the window.

Take a look at http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_boo...q/ctrl_alt.htm

I used that site to try different key combinations to generate an Alt. On my Mac I need to use alt-command to get an Alt to the Firefox browser running on Linux. On a Windows keyboard that might be alt-Window key.
