fitler all mail from contacts

Hi,

Is there a way to create a GMail filter that stars all incoming messages from any one in my contact list?

Thanks!
Michael

TRY CREATING A GROUP WHICH CONTAINS ALL YOUR CONTACTS AND USE THE GROUP IN THE FROM FIELD OF A FILTER.

I tried to do that just to be sure and could find no way to get a group into the filter! Sorry about that. I do not understand why it should be a problem but I just cannot find a way to do it! I will ask Google latter this week.

I was able to achieve the desired result by adding dots to my address, i.e. mail sent to m.j.friedman is filtered to add a star, mail sent to mjfriedman is not. Also any conversations started by me a filtered to add a star. Thus, reading list type messages are not atarred while others are, which is what I wanted.
