rejecting email rules not functioning
Recently I added a rule to the 'reject email' page that was supposed to reject mail from "Basex Editorial" <Distribution@basex.com>. But mail from there keeps getting delivered. What am I doing wrong?

Are you also filing it into a folder? If another rule fires first that could be the cause.

Try just using the email address or full name. When you try and match both, the spacing has to be exactly right for it to match, so:
"some name" <someemail@example.com> For example won't match: " some name " <someemail@example.com> Easier to just try and match on someemail@example.com Rob |

If I have set up rejection email rules, and I also have filter rules, which will fire first? The filter rules allow numbering, but the rejection rules don't. |

The rules in the forms are converted into a sieve language script when you select Done. This sieve script is executed sequentially. You can easily check your rules order (even if you don't know how to write sieve) by selecting the link at bottom of the rules screen to view the current script. Always select Done after editing rules, then view the script. You will see reject rules (if ... discard) followed by filing rules (if ... fileinto ...). |
