problem with safe-mail.net

I have not been able to access my safe-mail account for 36 hours +. Yesterday, their web page would not come up until late in the day. When their web page finally came up and I attempted to log in, a window would open stating "login error" Now, when I try to log in I get this message:
"Dear user,"

"The user name or password is incorrect!"

I am using the correct user name and password, no doubt on this.

I sent their customer support 2 emails and received no reply. All emails of importance to me go to this email account.
Supposedly, Safe-mail.net is a email service provided by Secure Information Technologies LTD, Israel

As of several minutes ago, I found the following message on the home page:

--------------------------------------------------------
To all our users:
As a result of a system problem over 10% of the accounts are not accessible at this time.
We expect that during Friday, February 8 (EST) all accounts will be accessible.
--------------------------------------------------------

Safe-mail is a very reliable service and outages are *extremely* rare. They have an excellent record and are a good service. My account is among the the 10% that are not accessible (I am getting the "wrong password" message), and I sympathize with others who are affected. At least they are aware of the problem and are working to fix it. I know it is frustrating, but every provider has a problem at some point, including the biggest ones. Let's hope this is cleared up soon and does not recur.

Safe Mail is by far the best webmail service I have used in my life, hence I also reserve it for the most important messages. As long as no stored emails are lost, I would happily forgive them even if I'd be amongst the 10 pct affected users (haven't checked my email as yet) ; as long as no stored emails in my account are lost then I am happy to pretend the outage didn't happen. Safe Mail has been extremely reliable and user friendly for years, so it would take a lot more frequent problems before I'd consider saying anything negative about them. For now, they remain my favourite provider by far.

PS: the support does reply but it can take days or even weeks. When I last needed support (I only needed them 2x in about 5 years of using them, and one of those questions was a generic one rather than a technical issue) I just rung them. No response. Second attempt the phone was answered and I was provided with an answer in perfect English by a very friendly staffmember.

The phone number you can call to can be found in the WHOIS. Keep in mind they may be part of a larger IT group, so if you call then do mention you have a query regarding Safe Mail. Their headquarters (and to my knowledge also servers) are in Jerusalem (עירוּשׁלים), Israel.

Been using them for years and all I can say is: ! סףֲ מיל תוב מֵוד
Safe Mail is excellent!

I've been using safe-mail.net for years, I pay them $75/year and their service is now very low-quality. The site has been down very frequently lately, tech support does not answer in a timely manner (MONTHS will go by) and this has caused huge inconvenience as I conduct a lot of business through my safe-mail email address. Why have I trusted safe-mail? Because they advertise their high security and reliability. You can go right on using them if you wish, but your endorsement is absolutely laughable. You say they may take weeks to reply. That's acceptable to you (you must be a relative of the owners) but it is, in fact, unacceptable to create a great deal of inconvenience for one's customers and then add insult to injury by not responding to pleas for help and information. Safe-mail gets an "F" for email service.

Right now I have the same problem as thread starter - I'm entering correct user/pass, but I keep getting message:"The user name or password is incorrect!"

Earlier today they were offline.

I'm paid customer and they don't answer emails. Worst service ever. After this I will need to switch to another provider...

Safe-mail.net continues to suck and suck some more.

Over 24 hours ago, they posted a notice on the login page (which you can see only IF their servers are working) saying 12% of their clients will be unable to access their accounts for 12 hours. Of course, it's been many, many days since safe-mail has worked, and today, I cannot even get to the page that says you can't get to your account. Hey Tsunami, you're a big apologist for safe-mail management, in fact you're either one of them, or simply an unpaid shill for them. What's going on with "the best" email service? As for the 12%, I know others who have safe-mail accounts and none of them can get into their accounts. So, the 12% obviously came from where the sun don't shine.

NotSergei, I'm sorry you face troubles, so I will disregard your personal attacks. However, I have signed in to Safe Mail only last week and everything went as smooth as it Always does. No sign of downtime, no emails missing, no technical errors... Rock solid, as usual. Maybe they had a technical bug affecting only some users, although I've been using Safe Mail for 7 years now and in all that time never had any issues with them.

Their email support is slow, that is true. In all those years I only needed support once. I just called their office in Israel, where they are based. For the one time I needed their support, one single Phone call abroad was worth it. I was helped by their staff, in excellent English.

And no, I am not working for Safe Mail, I am not some fan boy they give rewards to to promote them, ... I am just a very satisfied user. There are so many people here on the forum who adore EUMX and Polarismail for example and who praise them simply because it's serving them so well. Well, Safe Mail has been very well in serving me, for 7 years and counting now. Being very satisfied with a service, does not mean you are some salesman in disguise for them.

Safe-mail continues to malfunction

Safe-mail says that some customers have problems and some don't. If you're a safe-mail customer who doesn't have problems, so be it; consider yourself fortunate. However, neither I, nor 2 other people I turned on to safe-mail in the first place, can log into their accounts at safe-mail this afternoon, 2/20/14. The service stinks, but the price remains the same. I look forward to getting a better email provider.

Point taken. But I have a question for you: Is it not provocative when people raise serious issues about a service that has quite clearly gone awry for some when one person calls the very service "excellent" in the face of these statements from others, and says he is willing "to pretend" the glitches didn't happen? Safe-mail.net is very clearly causing problems for a significant segment of their customers. Do you find it constructive when one person contradicts all the other posts by saying safe-mail. net is excellent? Furthermore, who on earth cares if they're in Israel, or the US or in Russia? I find his statements off-the-point and wilfully irrelevant. I found this blog by searching "safe-mail.net problems", and I came here for a solution. Insisting something is "good" when it obviously isn't good for some, is counterproductive. If that's a personal attack, go ahead and ban me. It's your blog, you can cut out whomever you wish.

Now looking elsewhere

I'm not usually given to "whining" in forums, but safe-mail.net has "tipped me over the edge". I've used their free service for a number of years for enquiries that I think it likely I'd want to dump, and about a year ago I converted one of the accounts to a paid-for basis. Since then it has been downhill all the way; I'm confident about that because I check accounts daily. As to getting a reply to a help query: I've never had one. I just wish they'd be more open about the nature of their increasing problem, because unless things look up, I'll not be renewing my subscription. Can any forum member recommend a comparable service?

One more time

Well, well! Here we go again. My paid account is up, the three freebies are down; and the spam-blocker panel has appeared on all the sign-in pages after my first sign-in (including the first-accessed account when re-accessed). Any theories, anyone? Safe-Mail just say there is an "unexpected problem".

Alternative to safe-mail?

Most of us have given up on safe-mail.net as a viable email service, and we're no longer looking to safe-mail to get it together. I have submitted a request to their tech support, on average, once a year, but they don't even answer those. (The gratuitous "I love safe-mail" statements aren't providing solutions to those who still can't get into their accounts. And no, that's not a "personal attack", it's a simple, factual statement.) If someone has found an email service alternative that is comparable to the old safe-mail.net, please tell us!
Thanks.

I would presume they aren't providing solutions because no questions were asked - just statements from those who like/don't like the product.
