At last, no need to ever log into the new interface!
I've been jumping between the classic and the new interface, doing everything using the classic interface, except for searching. This was extremely annoying but I accepted it as an unavoidable evil, not expecting any enhancement to the classic interface. Today I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that Fastmail has implemented the new and much improved search facility into the classic interface. This makes me extremely happy, and the thought of having to look for alternative email providers probably won’t cross my mind every time I have to search for an old email. Thank you!

I've noticed that "new and improved" always means the opposite.

Not in this case it isn't. Just try it. The difference is like night and day.

It's the same Classic interface, but the search function now actually works like it should. If you've ever used the previous search, you'd understand what I'm talking about. Apparently you haven't, or are just trolling.

I'm new to Fastmail so I don't know which to use. So far I've mainly been using classic. I'll switch now. |

Redirecting multiple messages. Quick empty links in folder tree. Poll of remote servers link. Single-click access to addressbook, notepad and files.
Not that I really use any of these (except redirecting multiple messages), just making a point. |

Unless I just can't find them in the new interface. I haven't searched for those features beyond a first or second level though.. - Bruce |

Rich Text
Classic has a much better rich text editor. With the new and imporoved interface you cannot even indent a bullet. It is a sad editor :-(. This better editor should be available for notes as well. That is where I would put it to use more anyway.

I'm not sure what Classic feature you mean by that. In the current Fastmail web interface, you can do the following:

Hi, Bill
Sorry if my post was vague. I was referring to the compose editor's "source" button (on the formatting bar) allowing one to change/customise html code. In my case I usually use it to introduce a preferred font not in FM's list of options (like segoe ui or calibri) and to specify a font size. Can't do that (yet) in the new interface from what I see. |
