Suddenly NOT RECEIVING emails from AOL/Netscape
Is anyone else having this problem?
I use both Mailbird and TB to manage my emails....have worked fine for years. Suddenly, on WEDNESDAY JAN 31, I can no longer receive emails from my AOL account (Netscape actually). I can log into my NETSCAPE and use the webmail just fine...but my Mailbird (and TB) can not download the emails any longer. Outbound emails work just fine. Is this happening to anyone else? Thanks |

I regularly send a test email to my various accounts. My last test email was sent February 2nd. It was received by both of my AOL accounts (sent to their @aim.com alias).
I am using Outlook for Office 365 to check my emails. |

Thanks...have done that (application password).
I'm still working on WIN7 (and would prefer to stay here). Any chance that is the problem? I was told this morning (by MAILBIRD "happiness team") that WIn 7 will only work sporadically with WIN 7. Wondering if WIN7 is also the problem with TB? Last edited by Kostia : 6 Feb 2024 at 02:24 AM. |

followup on my problem....
Hello all,
thank you for the input. I thought you'd all be interested to hear how my issue was resolved, in case it might help you. My TB suddenly stopped receiving emails. I tried using a local computer guy, as well as the GEEK SQUAD. Dork squad might be a better name for them after my experience. In any case, NONE of the above did a thing...nada. The last Geek Squad guy made a comment, however, trying to justify his inability to do anything, saying, "you really need to get off POP3 because the varioud mailgroups are limiting access to it." So i called AOL to ask that same question. Lo and behold - i had a technician from AOL remote into my TB, examine each of the sign in elements very carefully, and FOUND THE PROBLEM!!! One of the random code words (assigned by AOL) had been corrupted. AOL!!! Go figure!!! |
