IMHO, this is blatant advertising, whether or not the mods consider it so.

Very nice plan for a regional email provider. I found out that other providers like Protonmail and Tutanota are far better than Mailfence. Even Runbox with their outdated interface (the old one) or the ugly interface (the new one) is better than Mailfence.
Even Yahoo is better. And regarding to advertising: Quote:

But, why do I say that even Yahoo is better than Mailfence? Why do I say that Mailfence is a regional email provider? Well, because they don't accept signups from Romania and who knows what other countries. Their official answer is because they need to protect themselves from spam, [insert the usual blah blah blah here]. For more blah you can read their full blah answer here: http://www.emaildiscussions.com/show...&postcount=157 Let's see what's here at Spamhaus: https://www.spamhaus.org/statistics/countries/ Do Mailfence allow signups from United States? Yes. Is United States on the 10 Worst Spam Countries List? Yes. Second place with Number of Current Live Spam Issues: 2921 Do Mailfence allow signups from United Kingdom? Yes. Is United Kingdom on the 10 Worst Spam Countries List? Yes. 8-th place with Number of Current Live Spam Issues: 463 Do Mailfence allow signups from France? Yes. Is France on the 10 Worst Spam Countries List? Yes, with Number of Current Live Spam Issues: 446 Do Mailfence allow signups from Romania? NOOOO. Is Romania on the 10 Worst Spam Countries List? No. But Mailfence is blocking signups from Romania just because... I don't know what's going on in their weird alternate reality their are living into. The logic is missing at Mailfence. Mailfence told me I should send them an email and request an account this way. I'm roling on the floor laughing (sic). Mailfence, do you really, really think that I would trust my emails to some kind of regional email provider that has no connection whatsoever with the real world? And you wonder why nobody sign up for your service. Maybe you should wake up from your alternate reality, stop spamming this forum and do your job as you should. Generally a good overview of the "vendor lock-in" issue, but one factor not mentioned is that despite all the effort at your end you have no control over emails you send back and forth with most of the world. It is just not possible for most of us to have most of our correspondents utilize an encrypted system, and therefore your emails are still being scanned by Google, Apple, Microsoft and whomever controls the email systems at the other end. Plus, whether you like it or not, the big players have far superior spam, phishing, and malware technology, along with dedicated IT teams protecting your accounts and systems from being blocked by things like DoS attacks. Don't confuse privacy and security.
