Fastmail Crashes Vivaldi on Sending Email

I have been using the Vivaldi browser on MacOS for about six months, and today whenever I send an e-mail from the current interface Vivaldi crashes. When I send from beta Fastmail it doesn't crash the browser. Nor does it crash Safari in the current interface or beta.

I am using the latest stable version of Vivaldi 1.6.689.40 (Stable channel) (64-bit). And macOS 10.12.2.

Is anyone using Vivaldi who can confirm this behavior?

I can't confirm this -- however, I'm a Vivaldi volunteer and currently using an internal build that's quite a ways beyond the current stable version. That being said, I've been using Vivaldi and FastMail together for a long time now and don't recall any crashes upon sending with any past Vivaldi version.

If I have a chance in the next day or so, I'll try to reinstall the stable version and test again. In the meantime, you might try inquiring in the Vivaldi forums and see if anyone there has noticed any recent problems.

Hello mballas,

My setup is somewhat different from yours, but I just sent a message from the current web interface using Vivaldi without any problems. I’m curious to see what the problem ends up being.

Here’s my setup from the vivaldi://about screen:

Vivaldi: 1.6.689.46 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
Revision: fce2113643dbabe51ad6825c974c40dbfbaed139
OS: Linux
javascript: V8 5.5.372.33
Flash: 24.0.0.194
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.98 Safari/537.36 Vivaldi/1.6.689.46
Command Line: /usr/bin/vivaldi-stable --always-authorize-plugins --disable-translate --enable-blink-features=ResizeObserver --flag-switches-begin --flag-switches-end
Executable Path: /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi

Today is the first time I have ever had any odd behavior in Fastmail on this browser

Just reinstalled the stable version and tested several FastMail operations, including sending, with no problems. This is on MacOS 10.12.2.

Now I see from your most recent post that your problem has disappeared. Fingers crossed that it stays that way!

So far so good. I got Apple error messages every time Vivaldi crashed, but I have no idea what any of it means.

It may have had something to do with this.

Perhaps but it went away. Will have to see if the bad behavior returns.
